This policy explains how Bidhaa Hub collects and uses personal data, in line with Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.
1. Who we are
Bidhaa Hub (bidhaahub.co.ke) is an online marketplace operated by Bidhaa Hub, Nairobi, Kenya. We are the data controller for data collected on this website.
2. What we collect
- Customers: name, phone number, email, delivery address, order history and messages you send us.
- Sellers: the above, plus ID or business registration, KRA PIN and payout details.
- Automatically: device and browser details, IP address and pages visited, through cookies.
3. Why we use it
- To process and deliver orders, handle returns and provide support
- To verify sellers and pay them
- To prevent fraud and keep the marketplace safe
- To meet legal and tax duties
- To send offers, only if you agree. You can opt out at any time.
4. Who we share it with
- Sellers receive the name, phone and address needed to fulfil your order.
- Delivery partners receive what they need to deliver.
- Service providers such as our web host and payment providers, under contract.
- Authorities when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account is open, and order records for as long as tax law requires (usually 5 years). Then we delete or anonymise it.
6. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent for marketing. Contact us using the details below. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).
7. Security
The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to data is limited to people who need it.
8. Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your cart and understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser, but some features may stop working.
